What to expect as a workshop host
Thanks for hosting your workshop through BD Matters! We're excited to have you here.
Here's what you can expect:
Before the workshop:
We’ll send you the time and location in a calendar invite before the workshop.
Please prepare your slides/ material beforehand and share these with us asap. If you have any questions about content or format, please discuss this with us early so we can advise and accommodate
We'll share a list of who will be in the room ahead of time (name, company, job title etc.). This often attracts business owners, BD people, members, and non-members.
You’ll gain exposure in promotional materials in the lead-up to the event within our bi-monthly bulletins to over 1k people, in our social posts, our slack channel, and also to 7.5k Gray Matters subscribers.
We will also share social assets and suggested copy for you to promote the event to your own followers
Tickets can be purchased via Eventbrite with the options for people to attend in-person and online
On the day of the workshop:
Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to ensure everything is ready to go. The venue is Work.Life Holborn (a coworking space) at 20 Red Lion St, London WC1R 4PS. Please buzz the reception and let them know you’re here for BD Matters and we will either greet you there or they will ask you to wait and often offer you a coffee.
Sometimes we aren’t allowed in the room before 9 am but we’ll push to get in to set up before guests arrive. However, please build in time if the event starts late and overruns at the end. It is typical for people to want to chat/network but we’ll do our best to time keep.
We intend to use our laptop to share the slides and connect to Zoom for our online guests (hence why we ask for the slides in advance).
Coffee and nibbles will be provided for you and the guests
Please factor in a toilet/coffee break for your session.
If you're running late, please let us know asap. We’ll likely ask you to share your mobile number with us (for emergency purposes only).
Please check any interactive bits or AV equipment you'll need. We will provide a laptop for slides and a clicker.
We'll aim to have around 20 people in the room, with additional online guests.
Please ensure the workshop is interactive, we’d like in-person attendees to participate in some capacity to hold their attention
Please allow for Q&A throughout the workshop.
Photos will be taken on the day.
Jyoti and/or Adam will be in the room at all times if you need any assistance
After the workshop:
We'll share any relevant details/ data with you.
You’re free to follow up with people directly but do let us know if you want some guidance around this. We would advise not to be too aggressively salesy in a follow-up, but leave the door open and try to form ongoing relationships.
We'll be doing some post-comms around the event e.g. sharing photos on social media or relevant resources discussed on the day etc.
Feel free to share your photos (if you take any) and tag people
Please note, we don't record the sessions or send any of your slides or IP to guests.
We’re looking forward to it!
